“Not I, nor anyone else can travel that road for you. You must travel it by yourself. It is not far. It is within reach. Perhaps you have been on it since you were born, and did not know. Perhaps it is everywhere – on water and land.”

Walt Whitman

Benefits for Learning Institutions

The relationship we form with our partner  learning institutions is one that is mutually beneficial. This opportunity is something that your institution can offer students on behalf of us.

This is a tangible example of how your institution is helping and enabling students to develop leadership and personal growth through exploration and challenge

For every 10 students who sign up one staff member travels free. If 20 students sign up another adult (who may or may not be a staff member) gets to travel free. If you wish to take additional staff members we can offer them to come at cost price.

We provide you with an abundance of amazing photos and videos of your students wearing your emblems etc. These are royalty free and you are free to use them as you wish.

“Put your mind at ease”

Safe and Proffessional

Remember we are trained and qualified teachers leading student tours!

Manaaki literally means to show care for and respect to. We work with only the best adventure operators in the country and have strict processes in place to minimise risk.

We are not some manufactured mass produced tour guide who can’t relate to students. We know students, we know parents and we know teachers.

We deal with student issues on a daily basis. But more importantly we are sympathetic to the demands of parents and teachers. The welfare of each individual student is paramount.

If you choose to work with Manaaki Adventures we take the liability and responsibility of the students into our own hands, and, for that matter, we take that job very seriously. We have detailed safety systems in place for all aspects of our tours. We have ‘contractors agreements’ in place with all providers and use only these best companies in the country for all activities. We have public liability insurance and many other endorsements proving our credibility. These documents are all available on request.

All important safety and operational information is translatable for all clients.

We run a “challenge by choice” model, whereby if a student decides to pull out of a physical activity for any reason we will make allowances for that to happen. Note however, that some activities do require a reasonable level of fitness.

For both high school and tertiary tours we ensure that we have separate male and female students sleeping quarters. High school tours also have important curfews. Trust us they will be needing their sleep, as they will be exhausted from all the fun.

Our Expectations

We challenge every student who chooses to partake in one of our adventures to adopt our company ethos. We expect them to:
Respect other people, other cultures and the environment
Be willing and prepared to challenge themselves physically and mentally
Be willing to help others, be compassionate and persevere when things do not go their own way
Along with this they must:
Agree to our terms and conditions
Must have their own travel insurance
